Short Ram Intake Dyno TestingI decided to a do an intake test for everyone in the past. This test consisted of 4 intakes. Stock with stock filter, TypeS, super short ram with BPi flowstack, and the AEM v2 intake.
here is the run down of all the intakes on one plot
stock vs. V2
stock vs. TypeS
super short ram with BPi vs. AEM V2
SSR with BPi vs. TypeS
SSR with BPi vs. stock
In conclusion with this test, I have determined that intake length holds a good majority of the differences in power levels. I have a feeling that if I would have had a K&N drop in filter for the stock intake, that the power would overcome the V2. There were very slim differences in power (about half a whp). The V2 intake is ~250 dollars and a drop in filter is what?.....40-50 dollars? For the short ram intake debate, the purpose of getting a "brand" name is purely cosmetic. Evidently Honda did their homework with the induction setup for the h22.
