Stainless Braided Clutch LinesOk well after much issues with dealing with a certain company that will go unmentioned, for now, I finally got the chance to switch from the -4an clutch line to a -3an. The Wilwood check valve is still installed and this fixed ALL of my shifting problems.
-3an is the same size, or about, as the standard OEM hardlines. So if you have anyone tell you its ok to run 4an, send them a link or point them their way to this thread and let them know how wrong they are.
-4an looks to be able to hold TWICE the volume of fluid as the -3an line. -4an is just too big for the amount of fluid that our master cylinders displace. When you are pushing the same amount of fluid into a hose that is bigger without changing the amount of fluid to be displaced, you are going to run into problems of gaining enough pressure in the line to push the slave cylinder and you are going to grind gears and miss shifts.
I dont know how much this wilwood valve is doing for me, but i know for a fact that it helps keep the line pressurized and i would recommend it to us prelude guys who hate the damn cable shifters!!!
